Ep 14 - Parasite Ram-Don Recipe
In the fourteenth episode of the Film and Food Podcast Chris had guest Clayton Waters on the show to give their Film and Food Review of the 2019 film Parasite. Triple Threat! This was such a great episode so make sure to check that episode out by clicking on the "Podcast" tab!
This recipe is inspired by the ram-don dish that is hurriedly prepared under intense circumstances in the film and also serves as a metaphor for some of the themes of the film, plus its delicious especially if you're willing to cough up a little for some great sirloin!
Recipe commitment: Super Easy
Try this Korean hybrid dish that serves not only great taste but also the themes of the movie!
- 200gm high quality sirloin steak (mine was New York sirloin but if you can get Korean beef its more authentic!)
- 1 packet of Neoguri noodles
- 1 packet of Chapagetti noodles (if you can find them, I used another Korean style noodle)
1 Boil some water in a large saucepan.
2 Meanwhile, cut the sirloin steak into cubes. Season with salt and pepper and cook until desired texture and colour. Set aside.
3 Place the two packets of noodles into boiling water and cook until done. Drain well and add all the spice, vegetable and seasoning sachets from both noodle packets.
4 Serve the noodles in two bowls with some sirloin cubes onto. Enjoy!
